Lilian Apolinario is a chemist with training in an industrial laboratory and a degree in chemistry with technological specializations. She is the founder of Tangerine Biocosméticos, a Brazilian brand dedicated to the development of botanical and natural cosmetics formulated based on scientific research, practical observation, and respect for skin physiology.

 

Her work combines technical knowledge, constant investigation into natural ingredients, and a careful approach focused especially on sensitive skin and more conscious formulations within botanical cosmetics.

 

Scientific background and laboratory experience

Before founding Tangerine, Lilian built a professional career linked to science and laboratory research. Her technical training in an industrial laboratory and her degree in chemistry provided a solid foundation for understanding formulation processes, raw material analysis, and product development.

 

Throughout her professional experience, she has participated in activities related to different areas of applied science, including food, cosmetics, lubricants, and sugarcane biotechnology. She has also been involved in research involving sugarcane diseases and studies related to bacteriophages in food. This multidisciplinary experience contributed to developing an investigative perspective that now guides the creation of Tangerine's formulations.

 

The Encounter with Natural Cosmetics

The interest in natural cosmetics initially arose from personal lifestyle choices. More natural food, recycling practices, and attention to environmental impact have always been part of the founder's routine.

When she began her studies in the area of ​​botanical cosmetics, Lilian deepened her investigation into natural ingredients, plant extracts, and different formulation systems used in this segment.

During this period, she also came into contact with aromatherapy and developed neutral bases intended for aromatherapy use, further expanding her understanding of the behavior of natural raw materials in cosmetic formulations.

 

Practical Research and Discovery about Sensitivity to Essential Oils

During the studies and tests of natural formulations, an important discovery emerged that would profoundly influence the brand's philosophy.

While using natural shampoos available on the market, Lilian began to experience inflammation of the scalp. Based on this experience, a careful investigation into the possible causes of the reaction began.

Successive formulation tests and personal use allowed the identification of an individual sensitivity to essential oils, ingredients widely used in natural cosmetics.

This discovery led to the development of more careful and gentle formulations, including fragrance-free products and systems designed for people with greater skin sensitivity.

 

The creation of Tangerine Biocosmetics

With the union of scientific training, practical experience, and research into natural ingredients, Tangerine Biocosmetics was born.

The brand was formalized in 2020 and began to dedicate itself to the development of botanical cosmetics that balance technical knowledge, observation of nature, and respect for the real needs of the skin.

Since then, Tangerine's trajectory has also been built on dialogue with clients, family members, and people seeking more conscious alternatives within natural cosmetics.
